Canon predicts increase of system camera sales for 2015. No mention about mirrorless.

Canon held a huge presentation in Tokyo (report at DCwatch). The interesting news is that Canon believes the decrease in DSLR sales are just a very short happening. They expect the interchangeable lens camera market to grow again in 2015. The image on top shows the expected growth in Japan.

There is of course no mention at all about future mirrorless strategy. But I think Canon cannot ignore mirrorless anymore...

Ricoh confirms they will launch a Full Frame camera in 2015!

LeMondeDeLaPhoto got an official confirmation from Rioch that they will launch a new Full Frame camera in 2015:

It's now official: there will be a full frame camera from Ricoh Imaging. You will have to wait until next year, the project being under development.

And I bet this will be a mirrorless camera! The first to compete against the Sony A7 series!

The most sexy camera announced today is...a smartphone...the Panasonic CM1!

That is likely the most exciting new compact camera launched at Photokina. And it's...a smartphone! The Panasonic CM1 has a 1 inch(!) sensor inside and a gorgeous little 28mm f/2.8 Leica lens on it. It's going ot be sold in France and Germany only but I think this could become a real hotseller everywhere! So hurry Panasonic, launch worldwide preorders as soon as it gets!
